Let's dive in!

Benefits

Drinking water stored in a copper water bottle has amazing health benefits and is widely recommended by health experts. Water stored in a copper vessel (which is known as “tamra jal” in Ayurvedic medicine) balances the three doshas in your body (vata, kapha and pitta) by gently infusing the water with the positive health properties of copper. Water stored in a copper vessel will also become natural alkaline water, which helps balance your body’s pH levels. Accordingly, our copper drinking bottles are also natural alkaline water bottles.

Studies have shown that copper is anti-bacterial, acts as an effective anti-oxidant, improves immunity, supports good health, prevents aging, eliminates toxins and free radicals, and stimulates the brain. Our copper water bottles are perfect for everyone and ideal for those with an active lifestyle. Because copper is naturally anti-bacterial, our copper bottles are naturally self-sterilizing and therefore do not require as much cleaning as other water bottles.

Traditionally Handmade with Pride

In addition to the health benefits, our copper water bottles are also beautiful pieces of functional art. We believe that copper is the best material from which to make water bottles and have worked hard to produce an aesthetically pleasing product that suits an active lifestyle, supports the maintenance of good health, and helps the environment by avoiding the use of disposable plastic bottles.

Our water bottles are handcrafted with pride by skilled artisans using traditional techniques. Each of our bottles is shaped from a single sheet of 100% pure copper with no joints or seams, and capped with a beautiful leak-proof cap made of pure copper and a food-safe seal. As a result, our bottles are of exceptional quality. We are proud to say that this may be the last water bottle you own!

How to Use Your New Copper Water Bottle

Your copper water bottle will be ready to keep you hydrated as soon as it arrives, but we do recommend washing the inside with warm water and a drop of liquid soap before filling it up with drinking water for the first time.

You can use any type of water in your copper water bottle, including tap water, water that has been passed through a filter, or even bottled water. You will probably notice the greatest difference with tap water, which is generally the least alkaline and in the need of the most care. Although tap water is generally fine in most first-world cities, you may wish to consider filtering your water before pouring it into your copper water bottle.

For best results, we suggest leaving water in your copper water bottle overnight at room temperature for about 6 to 8 hours, and then drinking 8 to 16 ounces of water from the bottle first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. You can then drink from the water bottle throughout the day and fill it up again as needed.

While it is fine to fill your copper water bottle with warm water, we recommend against filling it with hot or boiling water, as this can negatively affect your bottle and potentially cause the water to absorb too much copper from your bottle (the greater the temperature of water, the more capable it is of absorbing metals such as copper).

Please note that we only suggest using water in your copper water bottle. Copper can react with certain acids (including acids found in lemons, fruits, essential oils, coffee, and tea, among others) so it's best to only use water in your copper water bottle.

Cleaning Instructions

Your copper water bottle is made of 100% pure copper, so it will naturally patina over time. Many of our customers like having the exterior of their bottles age gracefully into a beautiful copper patina, but, if you prefer the shine of copper, it is very easy to remove. Simply sprinkle a pinch of salt on a slice of lemon, allow the salt to dissolve, and then gently rub it on the surface of your bottle. The lemon and salt will form a mixture that will naturally remove the patina and restore the copper’s shine. Once done, rinse with water and dry well.

The inside of the copper water bottle will also patina, but this does not impair the water stored inside the bottle. We recommend cleaning the inside of your bottle every now and then with warm water and a drop of liquid soap, and then rinsing it well. However, be sure to never wash your copper water bottle in a dishwasher.

Hello. I am interested in trying out drinking copper water. I am wondering if the copper drinking vessel could be put in the refrigerator overnight? Or should I keep it at room temperature and after the 6-8 hours put it in a regular container and add ice or cool it in the refrigerator? My goal is to have at least a gallon of water for drinking throughout the day. Or is there a limit as to how much copper water one should drink? And for how long?
Thank you in advance for your time. L.G.

Hi Tom, thanks for your message! Yes, very occasionally there may be some very small flaking of copper, but that has no affect on the use of the bottle. Copper is a very soft metal, so occasionally a little bit may flake off, especially since we do not apply any coating or lacquer to our bottles, as this would detract from their health benefits. Enjoy your new bottle!

Good day,

I just received my copper bottle and I’m so excited to start getting to use it. It looks beautiful, and it SMELLS like real copper. I love it. Upon opening my bottle, I did notice that a small (very small) piece of the underside of the copper lid is flaking off. While this would typically bother me… I can see underneath that piece that’s flaking and it’s just more copper. I can attest that this bottle is NOT lined, the lid is not lined. This is truly 100% copper and I’m not sure what other stores can be trusted. It’s an expensive bottle, but I mean, it’s all copper. Enjoy your bottles everyone. I’ll be enjoying mine!

Hi Ina, thanks for your question! The good news is that rinsing your copper bottle with hot water should not harm it. However, we recommend avoiding the use of hot water with your copper bottle as the hot water can cause too much copper to be absorbed by the water. In addition, because copper is a very good conductor of heat, filling your bottle with hot water can make it very hot to the touch. If you have rinsed your bottle with hot water, we recommend letting the water and bottle cool down, pouring out the water, and then filling it up as normal with cold or room temperature water. We hope that helps!
